Its not every day a 32 year old woman begins her rap career but today marks the first official release of Annie Hardy aka Shadow Annie and LA Phil's first rap single "Strictly Dickly" later today in a Freestyle themed Twosie . This was the first track the duo recorded, hunched over a microphone in Phil Geronimo's apartment late one night. Had you been there you could have found Hardy quietly freestyle rapping for hours, with years worth of venemous spite and extremely offensive shit-talk.

Says Hardy of her interesting, late in life decision to rap "I didn't really decide to rap, I was freestyling one day on Full Psycho TV and Rick Ross, who owns Delicious Vinyl saw it and arranged a meeting with me, told me I was a genius. It's been hard to figure out what one does with this talent when one is me. Phil decided to record me rapping to his beats so I just let my poison flow and he edited it together. He became LA Phil one night while hanging out with the already existing Shadow Annie and finally it made sense. The rest is history. Knowing my odd luck this will be the biggest thing I do all year because its insanely retarded and even more offensive. People will either think its funny or they'll be so shocked and insulted they will hate it and want me dead."

That depends on people's sense of humor and ability to appreciate the raw nature of this beast that is Shadow Annie, called such based on Carl Jung's "shadow theory" (yes, I am surprised too) referring to the untapped subconscious dwelling persona within each of us. Annie made great efforts this year to explore her Shadow Self, taking it, as LA Phil calls it "to The Hardy Zone" and way past the point of being healthy. "I really pushed my limits" says Hardy, "Shadow Annie is sometimes the best version of me, highly efficient and an amazing freestyler but other times she is just totally insane and moody because she's hungry, tired and lonely".

Of her decision to work with LA Phil for this project Hardy calls it fate, "I met Phil through a string of people that were more or less bottom feeders, AIDS vampires and jerks. But I managed to meet Maryssa Morse who ended up joinging Team Full Psycho and introducing me to Phil and they both ended up being great friends, good, solid people.
